About Me

Librarian Specialist LLead

My career in libraries began as a Weekend Library Assistant at Cardiff Metropolitan University, and I then went on to have various roles in Cardiff Metropolitan University and Cardiff University: Senior Library Assistant, Scholarly Communications Library Assistant, Assistant Subject Librarian for Journalism, and Assistant Electronic Resources Librarian, before joining the NHS Wales e-Library on a 1-year secondment as the e-Library and Knowledge Services Manager in October 2022. Prior to working in libraries, I was a Student Support Worker supporting disabled students with study-related activities at Cardiff University. Alongside my library roles, I joined CILIP’s Library and Information Research Group and have been the committee’s Digital Officer since April 2022 (https://www.cilip.org.uk/members/group_content_view.asp?group=201305&id=692056).

Since starting my new role as the e-Library Specialist Lead in November 2023, my responsibilities include managing the day-to-day operation of the e-Library, leading on e-Library procurement activity for e-Journals, evidence summaries and guidelines, and e-resources management. In all my professional roles, I have enjoyed (and continue to enjoy!) supporting research activity and promoting evidence-based practice. Part of my role allows me to continue with this through supporting the searching needs of Digital Health and Care Wales. I am currently in the process of setting up a research and evidence service for DHCW staff, including a literature searching service and training – further details coming soon!
