What’s the review looking at?
Point of Care Tools are research and reference e-resources that a health and care professional can utilise immediately at the point-of-care with a patient. Most of the evidence-based point-of-care tools include levels of evidence, rating scales or grade recommendations as well as citations back to the original research studies, systematic reviews, or guidelines.
BMJ Best Practice offers a step by step approach to help manage patient diagnosis, prognosis, treatment and prevention. It is structured around the patient consultation, with advice on symptom evaluation, tests to order and treatment approach. It supports health and care professionals at the point of care providing information around real, diverse and evolving medical information needs.
Dynamed provides current, evidence-based information to support decision making at the point of care. It includes levels of evidence labels so users can determine the quality of the evidence and is designed so users can find answers to their clinical questions. Topics include an overview and recommendation section for high level review, and the table of contents helps users take a deeper dive into the evidence.
If you have any questions regarding the review, please contact elibrary@wales.nhs.uk or your local NHS Wales or Welsh Government Library.
