About Me

e-Library Support Officer

I’m Rebecca, but please call me Bex. Before starting with the NHS Wales e-Library, I spent 6 years as an Advocacy Support Officer in Cardiff and Vale of Glamorgan Community Health Council, where I worked as part of a team to support patients and their representatives through the NHS Wales Putting Things Right process. Listening to patients concerns and experiences of their NHS Wales services gave me a clear understanding of patient’s expectations of their health professionals and how health professionals interact with their patients. Continuous engagement with patients, public, Welsh Government, and health professionals was very much central to my role. I am a strong advocate of self-empowerment, and this is an area I have taken with me from my career within Complaints Advocacy Support.

Here in the e-Library, you’ll probably see me providing administration support at meetings such as at Service Board or our Champions Group and Project Groups, however, I am often out and about at events and exhibitions along with the rest of the team. I’ve taken the lead on the delivery of engagement activities for the e-Library. So if you have any ideas for promotion, training requests, or any feedback, let me know. You’d guarantee getting in touch with me via elibrary@wales.nhs.uk  as I’m also the main point of contact here too. Don’t forget to follow the @NHSWaleseLib on our social media platforms too!
